They are available in construction stores and specialized points of stonemasonry materials. It is important, to follow the manufacturer's recommendations when using such agents, because improper doses or application methods may lead to unsightly discoloration, or matting of the window sill surface.

Impregnation of granite window sills

For security purposes granite window sills against moisture, spots, dirt or negative external factors it is worth impregnating the stone.This process involves applying a specialized impregnating preparation, which creates a thin protective layer on the stone surface. Impregnation of granite window sills should be done immediately after their installation, and then every 2–3 years.

Before starting the impregnation the windowsill should be thoroughly cleaned of dust and dirt and make sure, that it is completely dry. Then spread the impregnating agent evenly using a soft cloth or brush. After about 15-20 minutes, you can remove excess agent with a dry cloth.
